Environmental principles essential to reach the UK’s nature goals

Reacting to today’s report from the Environmental Audit Committee, Nick Molho, Executive Director at the Aldersgate Group, said: “A comprehensive and rapid implementation of environmental principles across all government departments is essential to provide businesses with a stable and coherent policy environment that enables them to invest to prevent environmental harm and deliver the much-needed environmental improvements called for by the 25 Year Environment Plan and the upcoming targets under the Environment Act. The Aldersgate Group therefore welcomes today’s calls from the Environmental Audit Committee for the policy statement on environmental principles to be finalised promptly and comprehensively implemented by all Government departments. We also call for a practical review to take place in the near term to ensure that the policy statement is having the intended positive impact on environmental policymaking across Whitehall.”
