Aldersgate Group reaction: The Clean Power Action Plan

Rachel Solomon Williams, Executive Director at the Aldersgate Group, said: “The Clean Power Action Plan proposes an impressive depth and breadth of interventions to meet the massive challenge of the 2030 clean power goal. We welcome the wide-ranging proposals on planning as well as the Plan’s emphasis on the need to protect and restore nature while we deliver new energy infrastructure: both goals are crucial and should be complementary.

“As highlighted in a recent joint report by Aldersgate Group, CPRE and RenewableUK, it is good to see actions included on community engagement and public awareness-raising, helping to generate widespread support for these vital changes [1]. The Plan also rightly highlights the importance of building up a UK skills base and supply chain as part of delivering Clean Power 2030, including a pilot scheme to support regional skills interventions.”
